Keep training through the Winter

INDOOR SOCCER

Sharon Soccer Association is excited to once again offer the opportunity for winter indoor soccer to our 2nd graders at the Norfolk ForeKicks indoor soccer league. If you are interested in participating, SSA will open registration and will organize Grade 2 Boys and Grade 2 Girls teams for the first ForeKicks session.

Although SSA is only coordinating registration for 2nd grade teams, travel coaches are encouraged to register and organize their teams directly with Forekicks here.

  • Cost: $190 per player, plus the cost of a uniform or indoor jersey if the player does not yet have one.

  • Purchase indoor jersey/uniforms here. SSA will assign your child their number.

  • Player numbers: Players will be assigned numbers through SSA.

  • Rosters & waivers: ForeKicks requires online rosters and waivers to be completed before the first game.

ForeKicks is a large indoor sports venue with indoor turf fields, both boarded and unboarded. Their indoor soccer leagues are competitive with teams divided into brackets based on age, gender, and competitive level. Teams are mostly from other town programs, with occasional club teams and pick-up teams. The fields are suitable for 7x7 (for Grades 2–4). Games are refereed, standings are kept within each bracket, and the top teams receive awards. It’s a fantastic, fun way for kids to play competitive soccer during the off-season.

  • Guaranteed games: Teams will have nine guaranteed games during the session.

  • Game format: 7v7 for Grade 2 (U8) play on indoor turf.

  • Location: All games are played at Norfolk ForeKicks.

Practices & Coaching

  • Included with registration: Registration includes 2 indoor practices with SSA’s Director of Coaching.

  • Teams may also have the option for a couple of outdoor practices in late October/early November depending on coach and field availability. SSA is also working on additional indoor practice opportunities and will update families if those are scheduled.

Game Days & Kickoff Windows

Boys (Grade 2 / U8): Sundays at ForeKicks Norfolk — kickoff times may be scheduled anytime between 9:00 AM and 8:00 PM.
Girls (Grade 2 / U8): Saturdays at ForeKicks Norfolk — kickoff times may be scheduled anytime between 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM.

Kickoffs start on the hour; teams should be ready to play 5–10 minutes before kickoff. Specific game schedules and exact kickoff times will be released the week before play starts.
